In 2015, LTA helped establishand making operational Liberia’s first and only Internet Exchange Point (LIXP). The Exchange is owned and operated by an association of licensed Mobile and Internet Service Providers, the Liberia Exchange Point Association (LIXPA).

LIXP was established to serve as the primary point of interconnection for all licensed data/internet providers’ networks, to allow sharing of costs and IP traffic and improve the efficiency and overall quality of broadband networks for consumers. LTA continues to provide regulatory oversight and support to the Exchange, to optimize peering both at the local and regional level and bring much more effectiveness to its management.
